When you give someone the gift of a portrait session you are
…giving them an opportunity to record, preserve, and CELEBRATE themselves and their families.
…giving a gift that they will have and cherish for years to come.
…giving them the experience of a photo session where they get to be themselves and then see how beautiful that really is.
Gift Certificates can be purchased in any denomination and can be sent either to you or directly to the recipient.
This is also something you could register for if you are expecting a baby.

Z and M, part 2 | Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale children and family photography

If the image above looks familiar, it might be because you saw it here. Mom wasn’t kidding when she told me that really captured her son the first time around! This time we were on the beach and at their home in Fort Lauderdale.

Baby M is not saying much with words yet, but those eyes are definitely talking.

And they could be saying, “have you heard I’m going to be a big sister?! I’m not sure what to think about that yet.”

Congrats to the whole W family! Thank you for being such generous hosts and friends to me and my girls. Next time, really, we have to get A in there…along with the new baby!

I have too many favorites of these guys to post here. Check out the JMP Facebook page to see more!

HOT day on the beach! Jacksonville, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale children and family photography
Posted on October 11, 2009

It’s been such a busy few weeks that I’ve not posted as much as I would have liked. These are from a mini session on the beach that I did recently near Fort Lauderdale. This shoot was late in the morning and it was HOT! We had to hide out under the pier to have any hope of finding shade. Miss E is beautiful, but wasn’t too keen on getting her picture taken by me! Thankfully, Daddy helped me bring out her smile.

So serious…

The C Family | Jacksonville family and childrens photography
Posted on September 20, 2009

I recently got to photograph one of my favorite young families. We first met back when big brother L and my own CM were both still in the womb…a few years and states ago (for me). I am lucky enough to still see them occasionally when they come down to Jacksonville. It’s always fun to check in with them, because when we met we were in that twilight period of expecting our first babies, entering that unknown world of parenthood. Now they have their beautiful two boys, we have our two girls, and we’re comparing notes on kindergarten and sibling rivalry….oh, and college football. Some things don’t change (guess their team by the their wardrobe).

You just know that it won’t be long before these boys will be too cool for PDAs with daddy, or to take their lovies anywhere and everywhere with them. But for now…

The last time I saw J he still had that baby look to him. This year, I was surprised by what a little man he’s growing into!

D and J, I’m so glad that our paths have continued to cross. I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed spending the time with you. See you again soon!

Remember this sweet baby? Five months have passed since I last saw her, and I was amazed at how much she’s grown and changed. I couldn’t believe how much more she looks like her mom now!

With her proud big brother!

It could be a pool, a puddle, the tub, a creek, or the ocean. My girls just love being in and near the water. Well, CM has gone from being terrified to loving it now that she has learned to swim. VC already can’t get enough of it.

P turns Four! :: Captain Character Birthday Party
Posted on June 11, 2009
P’s mom told me it was just going to be a simple little get together with family, but there was a little more to it than that. I had fun being a part of the party and getting to document the fun.

Captain Character was on hand to provide the entertainment. Despite the rain, he gave the kids a fun dinosaur lesson…

made balloon hats and swords…

painted faces…

facilitated an archeological dig…

erupted a volcano…

and shot off a rocket! Not sure how this related to dinosaurs, but P loved it.

The beautiful and delicious cake was from Sheila’s Cakes.

Happy Birthday, P! I hope to get to celebrate many more with you.

Sweet, sweet baby boy…

Three weeks old, beautiful blues eyes, sweet disposition…what’s not to like?

Only 20 days in, and mom is looking amazing.

Dad and his little guy.

Changing was a family affair.

All eyes on B. You guys make a beautiful family. Congratulations!

Practice Makes Perfect : Rehearsal Dinner at Roswell Mill Club
Posted on May 20, 2009

I so enjoyed photographing M&L’s rehearsal dinner at the beautiful Roswell Mill Club, in Roswell, Georgia. This facility is adjacent to Ivy Hall, both of which have been restored from a Civil War era cotton mill. Overlooking Vickery Creek and a park that includes a picturesque covered bridge (unfortunately not easily accessible in the heels all the ladies were wearing!), this is a part of town that I had not been to in ages and plan to return to with the family on one of our next trips up.

They say you can judge how a man will treat his wife by how he treats his mother. Judging by how sweet this groom is with his mom and grandmother (below), I’d say L is in good hands.

The bride got comfortable so she could go mingle with her friends and family.

The RMC is a beautiful venue both indoors and out, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the elegant room and porch.

There was a nostalgic slideshow at the end of the night with pictures of the couple from childhood up to their courtship. This is the mom and sister of the bride watching and reminiscing from the back of the room.

Thanks and best wishes to the newlyweds. It was a pleasure to spend the evening with your family and be a part of this special night on the cusp between your old life and your new one.
bibi + yoyo…the prequel

I was with the bride the day and morning prior to the wedding. Here are photos from a shower, the rehearsal, and getting ready on the day of the wedding.

Magnolia lawn, where the ceremony was originally slated to take place. Check out Abbey’s blog to see how beautifully Plan B turned out inside. I’ll have some pics from the ceremony and reception here next week.

The father of the bride with his lovely wife…and daughter.

The ladies got ready and were treated like royalty at G Salon.

Whether at a dress fitting or for the main event, putting on the veil is always one of my favorite moments. I don’t know what it is, but it makes it all come together and feel real. It was then that B’s sister and “MOH” (maid of honor) said, “this is really happening!” and a few tears were shed by all. Those are the mothers of the bride and groom in the background.

Last few moments of prep and anticipation…
