Doulananda Birth Services and Jennifer Mendoza Photography are happy to announce our new partnership! Because we share a passion for celebrating and supporting families, we are joining forces to provide photography services to Doulananda HypnoBirthing students and doula clients.

With our likeminded approach to creating experiences that honor each of our clients as individuals, we think that our collaboration is a great fit and benefit to Doulananda families. Each family will receive credit for one maternity or newborn session with Jennifer Mendoza Photography. This is a $300 value, but is complimentary to you with the price of tuition, or doula fee.

The phases of pregnancy, birth, and new parenthood are among the most beautiful and fleeting in our lives. Together we are committed to making it a positive and joyful experience that will be captured and cherished for generations.

I’ve had the greatest luck finding two inspiring locations for my first ever mini session days. I am so looking forward to playing and working with your kids and families there! In Jacksonville, we will be on a family farm on the north side of town that provides big open spaces as well as beautiful old trees and landscapes. For Atlanta, we will be at a newly and beautifully landscaped home in Decatur. I am thrilled to get to see so many of your happy faces at once, and to capture your families in time for the holiday season.

The fine print:

- The session fee covers the cost of the photographer’s time. This offer includes no prints or digital files. Those will be available to purchase afterward. There is an additional fee for groups larger than 10.

- Weekend rate only, although sessions can be scheduled on any available dates on a first come, first serve basis.

- It is not necessary to schedule sessions at the time of purchase, but clients are strongly encouraged to schedule at least one month in advance of desired dates.

- Valid through December 31, 2011.

- Beautifully wrapped gift certificates are available.

ATLANTA FAMILIES, I will be up your way September 30 – October 3. This is a great time to go ahead and get photos for the holidays! Take advantage of the current early bird offer, and BOOK TODAY as availability is very limited.

This is the last week of summer at my house. I’m parts nostalgic, relieved, content, exhausted, and excited. I’m not kidding myself. Here in Florida, we still have many more days where the weather makes the beach, pool, sprinkler, and an endless supply of popsicles completely appropriate. It’s just that now we’ll have to squeeze that in between school, soccer, gymnastics, holidays, work, etc.  Now that I will regain a few daylight hours to myself, I will be re-focusing more of my attention on work, and encourage you all to take advantage of the $175 savings that is available through the end of August! Please note that there is now an added incentive to book on a weekday, which is especially convenient for those with very little ones not yet in school.

Looking through my personal photos from the summer made abundantly clear what I already knew, that just like most of you, I take the majority of photos of my family in our day to day with my phone! Here’s a collage of what I captured over the last few months. It seems they are all about my girls or food, or my girls with food! The top left image is from the first day of summer break. The bottom right is from this morning. Everything else is in no particular order.

I love those. But, it makes me realize that I need to take more photos for me and my family (the reason I started to take photos, after all).  And it also reinforces how happy I am that I FINALLY got it together and had a fellow professional take family photos of the four of us. More on that soon!

The summer seems to have flown by, and the year’s end will be here just as quickly! I can hardly believe these photos of my “baby” were taken just two months ago, and this weekend we’re getting ready to pack away the crib. Ouch. My chest just tightened a little bit.

As the wise Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “This time like all times is a very good one if we but know what to do with it.”

Just like all of you, in addition to work, my time in the fall is FULL with school, sports, holiday and other activities so it is a great idea to plan ahead. That is the first of Thomas Jefferson’s “10 Rules to Live By” that confront me every day at the bottom of our steps. While I could deliberate, tweak, add, subtract, and otherwise edit this new version of my blog until the end of time, I decided to seize on the theme that has been present in my photography endeavor from the start. That is, the best time to act is NOW. There will be some minor changes in the next few days, but I’m proud to start off year two of Jennifer Mendoza Photography with my new and improved blogsite.

I hope you will find it to be more useful and easier to navigate than the previous version. This one does a better job of being a one-stop-shop, as a portfolio site, blog, and proofing/ordering site (coming soon). And the best thing about this site? Bigger pictures! Hooray for that.

It’s been such a busy few weeks that I’ve not posted as much as I would have liked. These are from a mini session on the beach that I did recently near Fort Lauderdale. This shoot was late in the morning and it was HOT! We had to hide out under the pier to have any hope of finding shade. Miss E is beautiful, but wasn’t too keen on getting her picture taken by me! Thankfully, Daddy helped me bring out her smile.
