Miss M was only 12 days old when I had the honor of photographing her and her family. Mom was a classmate of mine way back, and it was wonderful to meet her sweet family and get a glimpse of the charming life she has built.

I am booking now for Saturday, October 17. This is the only day that I have free in Atlanta prior to the holidays, so book NOW and don’t wait until the last minute!

See the investment page for options, including Mini Holiday Sessions. Another great option is to get some friends or extended family together and split the session up. This is also a fun way to get pictures of grown-up siblings, cousins, best buddies, etc, which also make wonderful presents. I’m always willing to work out custom packages. Contact me to come up with something that works for you.

I know these pictures aren’t exactly relevant to the post, but I can’t post without photos and I just happen to love these random ones from last week…

I’m thinking about one more working trip to the ATL this fall, possibly in mid October. This would be just in time to get pictures for the holidays! If any of you out there are interested, please leave a comment, or email/call/facebook me so I can gauge the interest level and work on setting dates.

As with the upcoming Fort Lauderdale trip, I’ll throw in some extras to my basic packages. If those don’t work for you, contact me and we’ll come up with something that does, including splitting sessions with friends if that is more convenient for you.

Speaking of facebook, I created a fan page. I’ll use that to share more albums, events and other tidbits. Check it out and “become a fan”!

I really enjoyed this recent shoot for a number of reasons. First, that it was an opportunity to catch up with an old friend I went to school with (gotta love facebook). She was as genuine and easy to be around as I remembered her, as is the rest of her family, which was great to see.

Second,  was that I got to capture an amazing moment. Little Miss A took her first “official” step right in front of my camera! To get that, and mom’s reaction, was awesome.

Another cool thing, we went to a park that sits in front of the house that J’s grandmother lived in when he was growing up. He has a lot of memories of the house and park. I love that they picked a location not just because it was pretty but because it meant something to them.

I like the tear and smile in that last one. The line between crying and laughing is so thin with children.

And last, but NOT least, that hair!

Hello, Handsome!

I’ve gotten requests before to do headshots, but was always hesitant. Until I realized that headshots don’t have to look like corporate mug shots or yearbook photos. They’re just portraits, but with a specific purpose…generally to impress a prospective boss, client, casting agent, etc.

So with that new perspective, here are some headshots that I recently took of a smart, talented and funny friend of mine.

Super Boy!

No, this is not a toothless toddler. This is just a BIG ten month old boy! He shares the exact same birthday as my VC but is about twice her size! Not only is he big, but Mr. H is blessed to be the newest member of a family whose generosity knows no bounds…T and I know first hand, being the beneficiaries of their kindness in a big way years ago. I was thrilled to finally meet H and photograph him, and hope to continue to for years to come!

Hats and babies… they look so cute in them for that half a second that you can trick them into wearing one.

Thanks, T and M, for letting me into your GORGEOUS home! Next time let’s do a family portrait, dogs and all! Oh, and if I can work that stove into a shot…

P Family: Atlanta portrait shoot

Posted on May 15, 2009

While the jury is still out as to whether our family is finished growing, it continues to be very unlikely that we’ll be adding any four-legged members to the household. I’m not naming names, but a certain blue eyed, blond haired, Y chromosome carrying person is the primary obstacle. And he may be right. But these might make him think twice…two cute little girls and their happy lovable dog…

Untitled-1

The original plan with this Atlanta family was to get outside but the weather was not cooperating. It actually worked out great for me because I got to do my favorite thing which is to follow them around the house, starting with breakfast…

Thanks K and C for letting me in on your family time. Your girls are beautiful and I enjoyed spending the morning with you.

These girls are not only beautiful, but warm, passionate and fun. Just like their great mom, whom I’ve been friends with since we were younger than they are now. I love getting to see them grow as a family. Thanks, H-ladies, for spending the afternoon with me. I hope you had a great month of birthday celebrations!

Have you heard that country song, “You’re Gonna Miss This“?  It’s a corny country radio song, but the lyrics get me every time. It doesn’t hurt that I first heard it when I was stressed out and pregnant. These reminded me of that song…
