My last session of the year was spent with a sweet new family of three.

In this month of focusing on what we are thankful for, I have to add my thanks to all the families that have trusted me with their family photography this year.

I’m grateful for each of you, and that I’ve been lucky enough to have this job for another year. Every time your babies spit-up, pee, poop, or fuss; every time your pets lovingly accost me, or threaten to use my bag as a scratching post; every time you dads endure me for longer than the 15 minutes your wives promised it would take; every time you moms call/email/text me for an opinion on an outfit, or to break the news to me that one of your kids just got a black eye; every time you make yourselves vulnerable to my eye by being in front of my camera, I feel incredibly lucky that I get to do what I do.

As crazy as that may sound, it is undeniably true. Many a parent has wiped their brow at the end of a session and said to me, “I don’t know how you do this.” I always laugh because I am thinking, “I don’t know how I got this lucky.”

Thank you for being yourselves and trusting that the result will be an honest and beautiful reflection of your families. I consider it a privilege.

How could I not feel lucky to be invited in to witness moments like this?

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Please check back here or on Facebook for a special offer next week!

A fun family I spent a recent cool morning with, in one of Atlanta’s great old neighborhoods. I lived there myself, a decade ago.

**Jacksonville sessions are SOLD OUT. If there is enough interest, I will consider opening up a second date at the same location.

Finally, I can share the details I’ve been teasing some of you with!

I’ve had the greatest luck finding two inspiring locations for my first ever mini session days. I am so looking forward to playing and working with your kids and families there! In Jacksonville, we will be on a family farm on the north side of town that provides big open spaces as well as beautiful old trees and landscapes. For Atlanta, we will be at a newly and beautifully landscaped home in Decatur. I am thrilled to get to see so many of your happy faces at once, and to capture your families in time for the holiday season.

ONLY SIX SLOTS AVAILABLE FOR EACH DATE. PLEASE DON’T DELAY IN RESERVING YOURS!

ATLANTA – October 22

JACKSONVILLE – November 6

Basic Mini Session fee of $200 includes

• 20 minute session at a private location

• 3 high resolution digital images

• 25% off print orders, including custom holiday cards

Premium Mini Session Package, $450, includes all of the above, plus

• all images from session (10 to 20) on a disk

• 25 5×7” custom holiday cards

Reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis, so please call or email info@jennifermendoza.com as soon as possible. The total session fee will be required in order to confirm your reservation. Upgrading to the Premium Package when you reserve will qualify you for a $50 savings.

First born, first Christmas, and soon after this session first snow for this Atlanta baby boy.

This mama happens to be a skilled photographer herself. So I was flattered when she asked me to come out. I know photos of them as a family are the ones she probably really wanted and knew she wouldn’t be able to capture herself.

Congratulations, Z family! Hope you’re enjoying getting snowed in and having even more excuse to snuggle in as a threesome.

Miss M was only 12 days old when I had the honor of photographing her and her family. Mom was a classmate of mine way back, and it was wonderful to meet her sweet family and get a glimpse of the charming life she has built.

I am booking now for Saturday, October 17. This is the only day that I have free in Atlanta prior to the holidays, so book NOW and don’t wait until the last minute!

See the investment page for options, including Mini Holiday Sessions. Another great option is to get some friends or extended family together and split the session up. This is also a fun way to get pictures of grown-up siblings, cousins, best buddies, etc, which also make wonderful presents. I’m always willing to work out custom packages. Contact me to come up with something that works for you.

I know these pictures aren’t exactly relevant to the post, but I can’t post without photos and I just happen to love these random ones from last week…
