I got a new lens and just had to run upstairs and try it out on my favorite subjects.
What is she thinking?

Rolling over, or trying to…

The best way to keep her from saying cheese is to keep her talking. Not hard to do.

I’ve started a new blog. The posts older than this one represent, in part, the purely personal blog I used to share with family and friends. This time around, I am sharing some of that, but also focusing more on my photography business. I have decided to turn my passion and talents into my job…do what you love, right? Well, for many years and especially since I have been a mom, one of the things I’ve loved to do most is take pictures. I hope you’ll enjoy seeing where this leads.

It’s often lamented that kids don’t come with owners manuals. I recently found this website when my friend Elena sent me this great video of auther Kelly Corrigan. The video is mostly about women and sisterhood, but it lead me to this website and blog that is about parenting and looks very interesting from what I’ve gathered in just a few minutes of decompressing after the girls are in bed (one still screaming…at T, God bless him).
The site is http://greatergood.berkeley.edu/tools.php
You can find a link that will lead you to podcasts of conversations with Kelly Corrigan, among lots of other interesting articles and links. I wanted to share this since I have remarked to myself and T a few times lately, when our beloved CM is acting in ways that I can only think of as payback for my own bad behavior as a child and teenager, that I wish we had some professional guidance. If not a psychologist, then at least Super Nanny.

All at once, VC has taken some big steps from newborn wet noodle to getting closer to being an able-bodied member of the family (sniff, sniff). In just the past week, she has begun both taking a bottle (finally!!) and rolling over in earnest, sitting up with minor support, eating cereal, and sleeping in her crib at night in the girls’ room. She’s halfway to her first birthday! Such a cliche, but the time does fly.

CM had a fun slumber party with Lola and her sisters last weekend.

The next generation of sisters entertaining each other. They already make each other smile and laugh. VC can’t take her eyes off her ate (pronounced “ahhh-teh”, it’s tagalog for big sister).
